Simple Salsa Turkey Burgers (three-ingredients & flavor-packed!)

These simple salsa turkey burgers are one of my favorite recipes EVER! With only three ingredients, these burgers are both protein-packed, tasty, and easy – a winning combination. If you’re looking for a simple (and delicious) turkey burger recipe, this salsa version is it!

Ingredients to make these simple salsa turkey burgers

Ground turkey – ground turkey is an extremely lean protein, and I can usually find it at my local Walmart and Albertsons grocery stores.

Salsa – I prefer a chunkier salsa for this recipe so the ground turkey doesn’t get too watery. I just take the salsa out of whatever salsa jar I have open in my fridge.

Oatmeal – I used gluten-free rolled oats, but you can use your favorite oat brand.

Taco Seasoning – this ingredient is optional, but if you want an extra taco flavor punch, you can add taco seasoning as well!

How to make these healthy burgers

Making these homemade salsa turkey burgers is simple and easy. They are the juiciest and healthiest burgers I’ve ever had, and this is my go-to recipe. You can make these turkey burgers in the air fryer or on the grill – both are excellent!

  1. Gather the three ingredients: a pound of turkey, a jar of salsa, and rolled oats.
  2. Measure out the salsa and oats, and mix with the ground turkey. For extra flavor, you can add a tablespoon of taco seasoning.
  3. Air fry or grill, add your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

Can I make these turkey burgers in the air fryer?

Yes, I’ve made these in both the air fryer and grill. Both are extremely delicious. I prefer to grilll the burgers, but, ultimately, you should choose the method that works best for you.

Are these turkey burgers juicy?

Yes! The salsa adds moisture to the turkey meat, and these burgers are not dry at all, in my experience.

What kind of toppings should I use with these burgers?

I love to eat these burgers without a bun, and I top them with tomatoes, onions, and a Greek yogurt taco sauce. You can choose the toppings that are your favorite. These burgers pair well with so many topping options!

Simple Salsa Turkey Burgers

These simple salsa turkey burgers are one of my favorite recipes EVER! With only three ingredients, these burgers are both protein-packed, tasty, and easy – a winning combination. If you’re looking for a simple (and delicious) turkey burger recipe, this salsa version is it!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 C rolled oats
  • 1/4 C chunky salsa
  • 1 Tbsp taco seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  • Add 16 ounces (1 lb.) of ground turkey to a mixing bowl. If the ground turkey is overly watery, squeeze out the excess water and drain before adding the turkey to the bowl.
  • Measure out the salsa and rolled oats, and add to the bowl with the ground turkey. Add the optional taco seasoning at this step if you are using it.
  • Mix the ground turkey and other ingredients well, and form four equal sized patties. The patties might be a little sticky, so you can place them on a piece of parchment paper, if needed.
  • Grill or air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through. If you are air frying, you can set the temperature to 375.
