Description
This air fryer wings recipe requires only four ingredients: chicken wings, olive oil, salt and pepper. Wings in the air fryer are crispy and delicious “naked” (as is), but they are also tasty slathered with your favorite barbecue sauce.

- 1 lb. chicken wings
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- Dash of salt and pepper (to taste)
- Barbecue sauce (optional for sauced wings)
Instructions
- Arrange wings on a plate or in a bowl and thoroughly dry with a paper towel.
- Add the olive oil, salt, and pepper to the chicken. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
- Spray the bottom of the air fryer with an olive or avocado oil spray (optional, but recommended).
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees, and set the time for 20 minutes.
- When the air fryer reaches temperature, arrange the chicken into the air fryer basket, making sure the wings are not touching or too crowded. If they are too crowded, you can make a second batch.
- At the 10 minute mark, flip the wings over with a tong, making sure they are not touching each other after the flip.
- Cook for the remaining 10 minutes.
- Eat the wings as is or toss with your favorite barbecue sauce.
Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on the air fryer model and depending on how warm/cold the wings are when you start cooking them, so consider checking the wings with 2 minutes remaining. Check the wings with a meat thermometer to make sure they are cooked through to at least 165 degrees.
