Ingredients to make air fryer peach burrata toast
- Fresh peaches — this is a perfect, quick dish for when peaches are in season. Fresh peaches pair so well with the caprese flavors of balsamic, basil, olive oil, and mozzarella. I use peaches that are on the firmer side, which hold up a bit better in the air fryer.
- Burrata — Burrata cheese was an unexpected surprise for me, after I accidentally purchased some in a rush (thinking I had grabbed smaller mozzarella balls). What a great surprise it was and a fun challenge for me to work with! The cheese melted so well in the air fryer, and it complements that peaches and caprese flavors. Burrata also brings added protein to this peach appetizer.
- Bread — You can select your favorite bread for this recipe. I used Canyon gluten-free bread, and it worked well.
- Basil — Fresh basil leaves add another layer of flavor to this peach caprese toast.
- Balsamic glaze and olive oil — These classic flavors will top the peach burrata toast after it’s out of the air fryer
- Salt and pepper — A dash of salt and pepper complete the dish, brightening all of the flavors.
How to make this peach burrata caprese toast
Prior to air frying
As the air fryer is preheating, add a small piece of burrata to each piece of bread. Then, top with 3-4 peach slices (depending on the size of the bread). This is all you will need before air frying. I tried a version where I buttered the bread, and I found that it became too soggy while cooking. I preferred a simple burrata and peach topping for the air frying step.
While air frying
You may need to rotate the peach burrata toast halfway through the cook time. With my air fryer, I noticed that the part of the toast closest to the back was cooking faster than the front of the toast. Halfway through, I rotated the toast 180 degrees, and that helped more evenly grill the peaches and melt the burrata. This will depend on how your air fryer cooks, though.
After air frying
After air frying, carefully remove the toast and place on a plate. Then, top with a few fresh basil leaves, drizzle balsamic glaze and olive oil on top, and lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper.
