Ingredients and supplies for oven bacon
Baking bacon in the oven is the best way to make bacon! It’s way less messy than cooking bacon on the stove, and it’s easy to pop the bacon in the oven and work on other meal prep while the bacon cooks. I call it a “set it and forget it” recipe, which I love!
The only required ingredient for this oven bacon recipe is…drumroll…bacon! However, I would highly recommend parchment paper to make the clean up extra easy.
I get my bacon from ButcherBox each month as part of a subscription. ButcherBox bacon is high-quality meat, and it is perfect for making bacon in the oven.
The steps for making bacon in the oven
- Arrange the bacon on a sheet pan, making sure the bacon isn’t too crowded. If your bacon comes in a large pack, you may need to cook the bacon in two batches.
- Bake the bacon at an oven temp of 400 degrees. After pre-heating, add the bacon to the oven and cook for 22-25 minutes. I recommend checking the bacon after 22 minutes and each minute after until the bacon is as crispy as you like it. Finally, after removing the bacon from the oven, I recommend placing it on paper towels to soak up any extra grease.
Cook times can vary depending on the initial bacon temp, the bacon brand, etc. Once you cook the bacon once, note the time, and then you can have perfectly cooked bacon the next time you try this recipe. I cooked the bacon in these pictures for 25 minutes, as I LOVE extra crispy bacon!
