How to make carrot fries in the air fryer
This recipe makes cooking carrots in the air fryer a breeze!
The ingredients
- Carrots — carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A and a great source of fiber. While you can cook baby carrots in an air fryer, whole carrots would work better in this recipe so you can cut them into longer match sticks
- Olive oil — this healthy fat will pair well with this easy carrot side dish and help the carrots crisp up in the air fryer
- Salt and pepper — these classic seasonings will bring this carrot dish to life. You can also sprinkle some garlic powder on for an extra flavor pop!
The directions:
1. Wash and peel the carrots
2. Cut the carrots into matchsticks of approximately equal size (1/2 inch is a great width to aim for)
3. Toss the carrots with the olive oil, salt, and pepper
4. Set the air fryer for 12 minutes and a 400 degree temperature.
5. When the air fryer reaches temperature, arrange the carrots in the bottom, making sure they are evenly spread out.
6. Halfway through the cooking time (or when the air fryer indicates to ‘turn food’), shake the basket, flipping the carrot fries over.
7. Check the carrots as the time gets close to being up because the cooking time might vary slightly depending on the exact size of the carrot fries and the air fryer model.
