Ingredients for Hot Ham and Cheese Roll Ups
One thing I love about this keto snack recipe is that you only need two ingredients! These ingredients were inspired by my favorite fast food sandwich growing up: Hardee’s Hot Ham and Cheese! This version, however, is a cleaner option, using no bun (gluten-free) and nitrate-free ham.
- Ham — I love using the nitrate-free ham with no artificial ingredients. Ham adds extra protein to this snack, and it pairs well with the cheese.
- Swiss cheese — Look for a pre-packaged Swiss cheese that doesn’t have too many holes. I was able to find a brand of Swiss cheese without holes (see pictures above).
If you’re looking for a dipping sauce to go with these low carb roll ups, I would recommend salsa or Ortega. My personal favorite is Ortega, though, as Ortega makes everything better!
How to make these keto roll ups
I love that I can whip up a batch of these hot ham and cheese roll ups in under 10 minutes, and they are so easy to make. First, preheat the oven, and while it preheats, line the baking pan with parchment paper. Then, place slices of swiss cheese on the baking pan. A regular sized baking pan will typically hold six slices of cheese.
Add the slices to the oven, and they will flatten slightly as they cook. After removing them from the oven, let the cheese slices rest for a couple of minutes, or until they are cool enough to handle (but not fully cooled). Place a ham slice towards the bottom 1/3 of the cheese slice and roll them up.

Ingredients
- 6 deli ham slices
- 6 swiss cheese slices
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and place the swiss cheese slices on the pan, leaving space between each slice.
- Bake the swiss cheese slices for 7 minutes, and remove from the the oven.
- Let the cheese slices cool for at least 2 minutes.
- When cooled enough to be handled, place a rolled up ham slices on the edge of each cheese slice.
- Roll up the cheese slice with the ham inside, and enjoy!
